Classical Music
I’ve never really appreciated the different renditions of classical music until tonight. In the car earlier, I happened to switch on to Classic FM, partly because there is a poor reception spot on the M11 where Classic FM seems to be one of the few channels that works well. I think it maybe down to the fact the Southern people block out the childish toy town nonsense that’s on local East Anglia radio in favour of more grown up humour.
Anyways, Camille Saint-SaĆ«ns’ Danse Macabre was playing. It’s a composition that I’ve always loved. Later when I got back home I decided to find it on iTunes. Downloaded a version by The Royal Scottish National Orchestra, it was pretty bland. I decided to download a couple of other versions. The result – all noticably very very different.
I like the Lyon National Orchestra version the best…
