When one hand isn’t enough
I came across this story on BBC News this morning. The jist of the story is that a man in Iran is having his hand cut off for stealing. The title “Iranian chocolate thief faces hand amputation’ suggests some poor guy is having the chop for stealing a bar of chocolate. However, if we examine the inventory of his swag in more detail:
- $900
- Three pairs of gloves (I won’t comment on the irony of that, save for maybe it’s now 6 pairs 🙂 )
- A large amount of chocolate
So, not quite a chocolate thief, maybe the $900 might have had something to do with it ? Although I have to say, when I read the inventory, I did think “that’s a lot of work for one hand !“
