I hate Spiders. Okay, they serve a function to eat flies, but I still don’t like them. Living near fields doesn’t really help and I’ve seen plenty of them around the house recently. Often when I’m sitting ready I see one run across the floor. I miss having a cat who used to love chasing them.

Every year they seem to get bigger and bigger. In this case, I quickly snapped (and yes I know the pic won’t win any awards) before it had the full force of my right shoe. To get an idea of the scale, it’s on the edge of the stairs – and I reckon about 3/4 a stair height !
