In the local supermarket just now. Queuing, some old guy no idea where he is in the world in front of me. Looking at things and paying no attention to the fact that there is a free space in the queue ahead. I go to take over his place in the queue and some random kid ignores the queue forming and shoots in front of me. The checkout lady starts to serve him. The kid gives me a glance, grin, and no apology.

They just live in their own world. The old guy I can handle as Alzheimer’s has probably got the better of him. The young kid, well that’s just down to sheer poor upbringing. It reminds me why I bought a house on a private road so I wouldn’t ever have to deal with these people apart from the odd time shopping.
