In Waitrose today. After asking the guy at the butchers counter about steak on the bone (idiot showed me something about 6cms thick- I laughed and said “I can hardly grill that”. Then my eye caught these things:

Totally horrid looking ! I won’t reduce the tone by saying what they reminded me of. However, I had a chuckle to myself as I recalled a childhood memory. My mother used to make these horrid Scottish things called ‘Beef Olives’- they sound exotic, but just downright awful. One day I pointed out that they looked like something disgusting. Each time for the next few weeks they were on the table I’d burst out laughing. After week 3 they didn’t appear again ! I’ve never eaten them since !
