I feel like Larry David..
Sitting at the table at the pub last night wondering what to have for dinner. It’s funny, I live in a relatively small village. However, the food options open to me are extensive. Of course, none of them are particularly healthy, but after a few pints of Stella that’s not particularly a priority.
Anyways, I really fancied Chinese food and given that the local Chinese was about 15secs from my seat it seemed the right thing to do. However, the thought of actually having to face the lady at the counter put me right off. I think I’ve blogged about this before- she’s so bloody miserable and it just puts you off. I know the guy who actually owns the business and I have thought about telling him about this- just haven’t had a time when she’s not been there. She also never gives me free prawn crackers which annoys me.
However, I decided to face the dragon (excuse any culturally related pun). Walked up to the counter last night, same bloody miserable face. After I placed my order, she said “anything else”, I was so tempted to reply “yeh, a bloody smile for once might be nice”.
Now the Larry David moment…. As I sat waiting for my order, I watching everyone else get a nice smile and pleasantries – I’m now confused – why am I treated differently 😉 ?
